This hand-carved Freyr statue depicts the Norse god of fertility, summer, and abundance — standing bare-chested amid grain and forest, his sacred boar Gullinbursti at his feet, framed by an arch of Celtic knotwork. Carved from solid ash wood and finished with varnish, it stands 8 inches tall and makes a powerful centrepiece for any Norse pagan altar, Asatru practice, or Lughnasadh seasonal display. Each piece is individually carved in Ukraine.

Freyr — whose name means simply "Lord" in Old Norse — is one of the most beloved of the Vanir gods. Son of Njord and twin brother of Freyja, he rules over sunlight, rain, and the fertility of the land. He is the god who gave humanity summer and warmth, and in ancient times his image was carried on carts so offerings could be made to him anywhere — for a rich harvest, a successful marriage, or peace between peoples. He is also known for his legendary sword of light, which he gave away for love, leaving himself unarmed at Ragnarök. His boar Gullinbursti, with golden bristles that shine like the sun, is his most sacred animal companion. Read the full mythology in our guide to Freyr: Norse God of Fertility and Abundance.
