- Goddess of the hearth: Hestia was the divine embodiment of the hearth fire — the sacred flame at the centre of every Greek home and temple, never allowed to go out
- Eldest Olympian: First-born child of Cronus and Rhea, she was swallowed first and released last — making her simultaneously the oldest and youngest of the Olympians
- Keeper of the sacred flame: In every city, a public hearth burned in Hestia's honour; colonists carried fire from this flame to light the hearths of new settlements across the ancient world
- Goddess of home and family: She presided over the domestic sphere — cooking, family bonds, and the warmth of shelter — and was invoked at the beginning and end of every meal
- The peaceful Olympian: Unlike her siblings, Hestia never engaged in war or conflict. She voluntarily gave up her seat among the twelve Olympians to Dionysus, choosing peace over power
