This hand-carved Hestia statue brings the warmth of the ancient Greek goddess of the hearth into your home — sculpted from solid ash wood with a varnish finish that highlights the natural grain. Hestia, the eldest Olympian and keeper of the sacred flame, was the most universally revered of all Greek deities, present in every home and temple as the divine protector of domestic life. Each piece is individually hand-carved in our workshop in Ukraine — no two are identical. Available in natural brown or brown with gold accents.
Hestia (Ancient Greek: Ἑστία) was the first-born child of Cronus and Rhea — swallowed first and released last, making her simultaneously the oldest and youngest of the Olympians. She was the divine embodiment of the hearth fire, the sacred flame at the centre of every Greek home and temple that was never allowed to go out. In every city, a public hearth burned in Hestia’s honour, and colonists carried fire from this flame to light the hearths of new settlements across the ancient world. Unlike her siblings, she never engaged in war or conflict — she voluntarily gave up her seat among the twelve Olympians to Dionysus, choosing peace over power. She was invoked at the beginning and end of every meal, and her flame was the first offering made at any sacrifice.
A timeless guardian of home and hearth — a commanding addition to any Greek statue collection, and a meaningful gift for Yule or Imbolc when Hestia’s returning flame carries special significance.
