This hand-carved Marchosias statue depicts the Grand Marquis of Hell in his fearsome true form — a wolf with great griffin wings, a serpent's tail, and fire spewing from his jaws. Every detail is carved from solid ash wood: the muscular wolf body, the spread feathered wings, the coiled tail. The surface is finished with varnish to bring out the warm grain of the wood, and the piece stands as both a striking occult sculpture and a powerful focal point for any ritual altar or esoteric collection.
Marchosias is the 35th spirit of the Ars Goetia demon collection, a Grand Marquis who commands thirty legions of spirits. In the Lesser Key of Solomon, he appears as a wolf with griffin wings and a serpent's tail breathing fire — but at the conjurer's request, he takes human form. He is counted among the most faithful of the Goetic spirits: a strong fighter who gives true answers to all questions and executes commands with absolute loyalty. Before his fall, Marchosias belonged to the Order of Angels and harboured hope of returning to the seventh throne after 1,200 years — a detail that sets him apart from the rest of the demon statue collection as a figure of both power and tragic ambition.
