Rising from the volcanic shores of Easter Island, the Moai have watched over the Rapa Nui people for centuries — silent sentinels of ancestry, authority, and spiritual protection. The Moai Wooden Statue brings that ancient presence into your home: a hand-carved figurine shaped from sustainable ash wood, faithfully capturing the iconic elongated face and solemn expression of the original stone giants. Available in Gray and Brown finishes to suit your space.

Details

  • Material — Ecological Ash Wood: Sustainably sourced ash with a tight, even grain that holds fine carving detail beautifully, giving your figurine a warm, natural presence.
  • Finish — Hand-Applied Lacquer: A protective lacquer finish seals the wood against dust and moisture, keeping your piece gallery-worthy for years with minimal care.
  • Dimensions — 3.9" H × 2.4" W × 2.1" D (10 × 6.1 × 5.5 cm): A compact yet commanding presence — ideal for a shelf, desk, tiki bar, or display cabinet.
  • Two Colour Options: Gray (stone-inspired) or Brown (warm wood tone) — choose the finish that suits your interior.
  • One-of-a-Kind Design: Every piece is shaped by our team's original artwork — no moulds, no shortcuts. What arrives at your door is a genuine expression of craft.

This statue pairs beautifully with other pieces in our hand-carved wooden statues collection — perfect for building a curated cultural display.

Moai — The Guardians of Rapa Nui

  • Origin: Carved between the 13th and 16th centuries by the Rapa Nui people of Easter Island (Isla de Pascua), Chile.
  • Purpose: Believed to represent deified ancestors — each Moai honours a specific lineage chief or important figure, channelling their spiritual power (mana) to protect the living.
  • Form: Monolithic heads with elongated faces, prominent brows, and strong jaws — carved from volcanic tuff (tufa) quarried at Rano Raraku.
  • Scale: Over 900 Moai exist on Easter Island, ranging from 1.5 m to over 10 m tall — the largest weighing up to 86 tonnes.
  • Legacy: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's most recognisable archaeological wonders, symbolising the ingenuity and spiritual depth of Polynesian culture.
