The most powerful force in Norse mythology is not a god but a wolf, and the gods feared him enough to bind him with trickery rather than strength. This hand-crafted Fenrir statue is a centrepiece of our Norse statues collection, carved in Ukraine from ecological ash wood and adorned with Celtic knotwork — the eternal interlace that speaks of cycles, fate, and the unbreakable bond between all living things.

Fenrir in Norse Mythology

• Son of Loki: Born of the trickster god and the giantess Angrboða, Fenrir was raised in Asgard until the gods grew too afraid of his power
• The Binding: The gods bound him with Gleipnir — a magical ribbon forged from impossible things — but only Tyr was brave enough to place his hand in Fenrir’s mouth as a pledge of good faith
• Ragnarök: At the end of the world, Fenrir breaks free and swallows Odin — the fulfilment of a fate the gods could delay but never prevent
• Wolf as Symbol: In Norse and Slavic traditions, the wolf was an omen, a protector, and a spirit of the afterlife — bridging the realms of the living and the dead
