Hypnos is the Greek god of sleep — son of Nyx (Night) and twin brother of Thanatos (Death), dwelling in the underworld where he rules the realm of dreams and rest. Gentle and benevolent, he is depicted as a winged youth carrying a poppy flower and a rod, moving silently through the world to bring slumber to gods and mortals alike. This hand-carved Hypnos statue captures his quiet, ethereal presence in ecological ash wood, finished with a warm varnish that brings out the natural depth of the grain.
