Hecate stands at the crossroads with a torch in each hand, illuminating the paths that others cannot see. This hand-carved ash wood statue honours the Greek triple goddess of magic, the moon, and the liminal spaces between worlds — one of the most ancient and enduring deities in the Western occult tradition. Each piece is individually carved and finished with varnish by skilled artisans in Ukraine; no two are identical.

Hecate — Queen of the Witches, Keeper of the Keys

Hecate is older than Olympus. She predates the Greek pantheon as we know it, arriving from Anatolia or Thrace with a power that Zeus himself chose not to diminish — granting her dominion over earth, sea, and sky, and the unique ability to move freely between the worlds of the living and the dead. She is the goddess of the crossroads, of thresholds, of the dark moon, and of all magic that operates at the edges of what is known.

She is triple in nature — maiden, mother, and crone, or in some traditions the three faces that correspond to the three phases of the moon — and she is depicted carrying torches, keys, and serpents. The torches illuminate what is hidden. The keys open what is locked. The serpents represent the wisdom that comes from shedding what no longer serves. Among the Greek goddesses, she is the one who accompanies Persephone between the upper and lower worlds, and who stands at every threshold to ensure that those who cross it do so with clear eyes.
