From the mist-veiled shores of Tír na nÓg rides Niamh of the Golden Hair — daughter of Manannán mac Lir, goddess of the sea, and one of the most luminous figures in Irish mythology. This hand-carved statue is a proud part of our Celtic wooden statues collection , carved in Ukraine from ecological ash wood with a lacquered finish that honours the radiance of her legend.

Each piece is individually crafted — no two are identical. Her flowing hair, serene expression, and graceful form are rendered with meticulous hand-carved detail, making this a statement piece for any Celtic or pagan altar space.

Niamh in Irish Mythology

  • Origin: Niamh (pronounced NEE-av) is a goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish mythology, daughter of Manannán mac Lir, the god of the sea and the Otherworld.
  • The Golden Hair: Her epithet — Niamh Chinn Óir, "Niamh of the Golden Head" — marks her as a being of extraordinary beauty and divine radiance, a hallmark of the Otherworld's immortal inhabitants.
  • Tír na nÓg: She rules alongside her father in Tír na nÓg (the Land of Eternal Youth), a realm of beauty, joy, and immortality beyond the western sea.
  • Oisín & the Great Love: Niamh chose the mortal poet-warrior Oisín and carried him to Tír na nÓg on her white horse, where they lived for what felt like three years — but was 300 years in the mortal world.
  • Symbolism: Niamh embodies divine feminine power, the allure of the Otherworld, eternal youth, and the bittersweet nature of love that transcends mortal time.
