Danu Celtic Goddess Statue | Hand-Carved Ash Wood | Fertility & Earth Mother Figurine

The Danu statue is hand-carved from solid ash wood and measures 5.5 in / 14 cm tall, 3.9 in / 10 cm wide, and 1.3 in / 3.5 cm deep. It is available in brown or dark brown varnish finish. The flame-shaped slab form and the DANU inscription on the base are carved by hand in our workshop in Ukraine — each piece carries subtle variations in grain and tone as a mark of authentic handcraft.

Danu is the primordial Mother Goddess of Celtic Ireland and the divine ancestor of the Tuatha Dé Danann — the supernatural race of gods and heroes in Irish mythology. Goddess of rivers, earth, fertility, and wisdom, she embodies the nourishing force of nature itself. Though rarely named directly in surviving texts, her presence flows through all of Celtic tradition as the great source of life, abundance, and creative power. She is especially honoured at Lughnasadh, the harvest festival celebrating the first fruits of the earth she sustains.

A Danu statue is a powerful centrepiece for any Celtic pagan, Wiccan, or earth-honouring altar. Place her at the centre or north position of your altar space alongside offerings of grain, flowers, river water, or seasonal fruits — all sacred to the Earth Mother. She is especially meaningful at Lughnasadh (harvest), Imbolc (first stirrings of spring), and Beltane (fertility and abundance). As a goddess of rivers and flowing water, she also works beautifully near a bowl of water or a green candle on any nature-focused altar.
