Eight spokes. Eight sacred moments. One eternal cycle. The Wheel of the Year is the living calendar of neo-paganism and Wicca — a symbol that maps the turning of the seasons, the solstices and equinoxes, and the four great seasonal festivals that mark the rhythm of the natural world. Hand-carved from ash wood in our family workshop, this wall plaque brings that ancient cycle into your home in a form that is both deeply meaningful and beautifully crafted. Each segment of the wheel corresponds to one of the eight sabbats, making this as much a spiritual tool as it is a work of art.
Plaque Characteristics
- Material — Ash Wood: Sustainably sourced ash provides a tight, even grain that holds fine carving detail beautifully.
- Finish — Lacquer: A protective lacquer finish enhances the natural wood tone and protects the surface for years of display.
-
Available in 3 Sizes:
- Small — 5.9" × 5.9" × 1.5" (15 × 15 × 4 cm)
- Medium — 9.8" × 9.8" × 1.5" (25 × 25 × 4 cm)
- Large — 13.7" × 13.7" × 1.5" (35 × 35 × 4 cm)
- One-of-a-Kind Design: Each piece is unique due to natural wood grain and tone — no two are exactly alike.
The Eight Sabbats of the Wheel
- Yule (Dec 21–23) — Winter Solstice; the longest night, the return of the light
- Imbolc (Feb 1–2) — First stirrings of spring; the awakening of nature
- Ostara (Mar 21–23) — Spring Equinox; balance of day and night, new beginnings
- Beltane (May 1–2) — Festival of fertility and growth; the beginning of summer
- Litha (Jun 21–23) — Summer Solstice; the longest day, the peak of the sun's power
- Lammas / Lughnasadh (Aug 1–2) — First harvest; gratitude for abundance
- Mabon (Sep 21–23) — Autumn Equinox; the second harvest, balance restored
- Samhain (Oct 31–Nov 1) — End of the cycle; the thinning of the veil, the pagan new year
The Wheel of the Year sits at the crossroads of several traditions. Its circular knotwork and seasonal symbolism echo the sacred geometry found throughout our Celtic collection, while its role as a ritual object makes it a natural centrepiece for any Wiccan or pagan altar space.
