In ancient Greece, Hecate stood apart from the Olympians — older, stranger, and more powerful in certain ways than any of them. She was the goddess of magic, crossroads, and the night; the keeper of keys to the underworld; the guide of souls through the dark. She is most often depicted in her triple form — three faces, three bodies, each turned toward a different road — watching all directions at once, holding torches to light the way where no other god would go. This hand-carved Triple Hecate statue is part of our Greek Statues collection, where the gods of the ancient world take form in ecological wood, crafted in Ukraine and finished with lacquer.
Each piece is individually crafted — no two are identical. Each of the three faces carries its own expression, carved with fine detail to reflect the distinct aspects of her divinity — maiden, mother, and crone; moon, earth, and underworld.

Hecate in Greek Mythology
- Goddess of Magic & the Night: Hecate is one of the oldest and most powerful figures in Greek mythology — daughter of the Titans Perses and Asteria, with dominion over heaven, earth, and sea
- Triple Form: Her three-faced image represents her power over past, present, and future, and her guardianship of the three-way crossroads — a liminal space between worlds
- Keeper of Torches: She carries twin torches to light the way through darkness, guiding souls and those who seek hidden knowledge
- Companion of Persephone: In the myth of Persephone’s abduction, it was Hecate who heard her cries and guided Demeter with her torches — cementing her role as guide between the living and the dead
- Patron of Witches: Revered at crossroads and new moons, Hecate remains one of the most important figures in modern Wiccan and pagan practice — a goddess of protection, transformation, and magic

Frequently Asked Questions

The statue measures H 8.0" / 20.5 cm × W 4.9" / 12.5 cm × D 1.1" / 3.0 cm. It is hand-carved from ecological wood with a lacquer finish.
Who is Hecate and what does the triple goddess form represent?
Hecate is one of the most ancient and powerful goddesses in Greek mythology — daughter of the Titans Perses and Asteria, with dominion over heaven, earth, and sea. Her triple form represents her guardianship of the three-way crossroads: past, present, and future, and the three realms of maiden, mother, and crone. She is the goddess of magic, the night, and transitions — a guide for souls and a protector of those who walk between worlds.
How can the Hecate statue be used on a pagan or Wiccan altar?
The Triple Hecate statue works beautifully as an altar centrepiece for rituals dedicated to magic, protection, and spiritual transitions. Place her at the centre or northern point of your altar, facing outward as a guardian. She is traditionally honoured at crossroads, new moons, and Samhain — and pairs well with candles, keys, torches, and offerings of garlic or honey.
