Austri (East) is one of the four dwarf brothers of Norse mythology, chosen by the gods to hold up the celestial vault — the skull of the primordial giant Ymir — at the eastern corner of the world. Alongside his brothers Norðri, Suðri, and Vestri, he forms the cosmic pillars that keep the heavens from falling. A master blacksmith of legendary skill, Austri and his brothers forged some of the most powerful artifacts in the Nine Worlds — among them Mjölnir, Thor's hammer, and the sword Tyrfing for the god Tyr.
