Asherah Statue | Hand-Carved Ash Wood | Canaanite Sea Goddess & Mother Goddess Figurine

The Asherah statue is hand-carved from solid ash wood with a varnish finish and measures 7.9 in / 20.3 cm tall, 6.7 in / 17.2 cm wide, and 1.5 in / 4.0 cm deep. The composition shows Asherah standing between two sacred animals — a goat and a deer — holding a wheat sheaf, with flowing wave and tree forms framing her figure. Each piece is shaped by hand in our workshop in Ukraine, so minor variations in grain and tone are part of its handmade character.

Asherah (also Athirat, Ashera) was the supreme mother goddess of the ancient Canaanite pantheon — wife of El, the chief god, and mother of seventy divine children according to the Baal Cycle. Goddess of the sea, fertility, love, and motherhood, she was worshipped across the ancient Near East by Canaanites, Israelites, Hittites, and Akkadians. Her sacred symbol was the Asherah pole — traditionally carved from living wood and placed beside altars as a living embodiment of her presence. She is the great nourishing force of the sea and the earth, the mother from whom all life flows, and one of the oldest continuously worshipped goddesses in recorded history.

An Asherah statue is a powerful centrepiece for any earth-honouring, fertility, or mother goddess altar. Place her at the centre of your altar alongside offerings of grain, flowers, sea water, or milk — all sacred to her domains of fertility and the sea. She is especially meaningful at Beltane (fertility and abundance) and Lughnasadh (harvest and the first fruits of the earth). As a goddess of the sea, she also works beautifully near a bowl of water or a blue candle. Her presence is traditionally invoked for protection of mothers, children, and the home.
