When the earth grows parched and the fields cry out for water, it is Dodola who answers — the beloved Slavic goddess of clouds and rain, wife of the mighty thunder god Perun. In ancient Slavic tradition, she was honoured through rain-calling rituals, her name invoked to bring the life-giving rains that fed the harvest and renewed the land. The Dodola Wooden Statue captures her divine presence in hand-carved ash wood — a figure of fertility, elemental power, and the deep bond between sky and earth. Shaped in our family workshop, this is a piece that carries the weight of centuries of Slavic reverence.

Figurine Characteristics

  • Material — Ecological Ash Wood: Sustainably sourced ash provides a tight, even grain that holds fine carving detail beautifully, giving your figurine a warm, natural presence that synthetic materials simply cannot replicate.
  • Finish — Hand-Applied Varnish: A protective varnish finish seals the wood against dust and moisture, keeping your piece gallery-worthy for years with minimal care — just a quick wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Dimensions — 8.1" H × 4.6" W × 1.5" D (20.7 × 11.9 × 4 cm): A graceful, commanding presence — ideal for a shelf, pagan altar, or display space.
  • One-of-a-Kind Design: Each piece is unique due to natural wood grain and tone — no two are exactly alike.

Symbolism of Dodola

  • Rain & Clouds — as goddess of the sky's waters, Dodola governs the rains that sustain all life
  • Fertility & Renewal — her rains bring growth, abundance, and the renewal of the natural world
  • Wife of Perun — her bond with the thunder god reflects the sacred union of storm and rain in Slavic cosmology
  • Ritual & Community — rain-calling ceremonies in her honour were among the most important seasonal rites in Slavic tradition

This statue pairs beautifully with other pieces in our Slavic statues collection — perfect for building a curated mythological display.
