Nott Norse Goddess Statue | Hand-Carved Ash Wood | Night Goddess & Horse Figurine

The Nott statue is hand-carved from solid ash wood and measures 8.0 in / 20.5 cm tall, 6.0 in / 15.5 cm wide, and 1.4 in / 3.8 cm deep. It is available in two finishes: varnish (warm, rich tone with enhanced grain contrast) and ecological oil (lighter, more natural tone that lets the raw ash wood breathe). Each piece is shaped by hand in our workshop in Ukraine — minor variations in grain and tone are part of its handmade character.

Nott (Old Norse: Nótt — "night") is the personification of night in Norse mythology and the grandmother of Odin. Each evening she rides her horse Hrísváfr across the sky, pulling the veil of darkness over the Nine Realms — and the foam from his bit falls to earth as the morning dew. Her son by the god Dellingr is Dágr, the god of day, making Nott the mother of the cycle of light and darkness itself. She is a goddess of rest, dreams, mystery, and the sacred power of the dark half of the year.

A Nott statue is a powerful focal point for a Norse or Asatru altar dedicated to the night, dreams, and the dark half of the year. Place her on your altar during evening or nighttime rituals, alongside dark candles, moonstone, or offerings of mead. She is especially meaningful at Yule — the longest night — and during any ritual honouring rest, shadow work, or the turning of the seasons. As the grandmother of Odin and mother of Day, she also holds a place of deep ancestral reverence in Norse tradition.
