Before the world was fully formed, the gods set two great lights in the sky — and to Sol they gave the sun. She rides her blazing chariot across the heavens each day, pursued by the wolf Sköll, her horses Árvakr and Alsviðr pulling the sun ever forward. In Norse and Germanic mythology, Sol (also called Sól or Sunna) is the goddess of the sun, a radiant force of warmth, light, and the turning of time itself — revered in Asatru and Norse pagan traditions as a powerful presence on the altar. This hand-carved mini statue brings her luminous energy into your sacred space, carved from our ecological ash wood mini statue collection with a lacquer finish.

Each piece is individually crafted — no two are identical. The natural grain of the ash wood gives every Sol statue its own character, making it a truly unique addition to your Wiccan and pagan altar or home.

Who is Sol in Norse mythology and what does she represent?

Sól (also called Sunna) is the Norse and Germanic goddess of the sun, attested in the Prose Edda and Poetic Edda. She drives her chariot across the sky each day, pulled by the horses Árvakr and Alsviðr, pursued by the wolf Sköll. She represents solar energy, warmth, the passage of time, and renewal — one of the most ancient and universally revered forces in Norse cosmology.

Is the Sol statue suitable for a Litha or Norse pagan altar?

Yes — Sol is the patron goddess of Litha (the summer solstice, celebrated around 21 June), making her statue a powerful centrepiece for Litha altar setups and solar rituals. She is equally at home on year-round Asatru shrines, Norse pagan altars, or any sacred space honouring the sun, light, and the turning of the seasons.
